Kestrel Knife

The Kestrel's unique design offers two blades instead of one: a larger, primary blade for rough work, and a smaller, secondary blade for detail cutting. The handle was designed to offer natural, complimentary grips depending on which blade is being used.

I wanted to create a knife that would suite my needs outdoors. I wanted my knife to reflect simplicity and beauty, yet still bring a new element of functionality and individuality to the table. I considered several ideas until I settled on the Kestrel, dual-blade design.
The Blade was cut from 1095 high-carbon steel, brought to heat in my own personal forge and quenched in motor oil. The blade was then tempered, the handle was added and I fashioned a simple leather sheath.
